This is my first blog post in October and in honor of all of the fall vibes that are coming your way, I wanted to dedicate today’s blog post to one of my favorite fall traditions- the pumpkin patch!
Our favorite Pumpkin Patch: Bates Nut Farm
Last year we visited one of San Diego’s best pumpkin patches, Bates Nut Farm and to keep the tradition going we visited them again this year. The big difference between last year and this year is that Julian is not an immobile baby anymore, he’s an active walkin’, talkin’, runnin’ toddler and as such it became a challenge getting the cutesy pictures like we did last year. We broke a sweat getting a couple of pics of him and he even photo bombed mine! See the sequence of events below ⇓
The “fall” weather here in San Diego is still kind of tricky. It was cloudy that weekend so I was secretly hoping the clouds would stick around so that it felt more fall, but nope good ol’ San Diego heated up as we headed in and so the sun graced us with it’s presence! I say all this to explain that I wanted to wear a fall inspired outfit but also one that allowed me stay cool. This lightweight top really hooked it up in staying cool and the rest of the outfit allowed me to stay mobile as I had to be quick on my feet chasing after Mr. Julian!
What I’m wearing: JCPenney Top | Raw hemmed ripped jegging (that doesn’t feels as comfortable as jeggings, but looks like jeans!) | Justfab Booties (sold out, but similar here) | This hat (under $20) | These brown round sunglasses (under $15)

What Julian is wearing: Carter’s Top | Kids Toddler Air Jordan sneakers

If you’re in the San Diego area and want to step into a REAL pumpkin patch head over to Bates Nut Farm. Check out their calendar of events here as they have lots of activities going on each weekend leading up to Halloween!
Other fall traditions that we enjoy:
• Decorating the front yard with Halloween décor (we still have to decorate for this year and of course I will share on instastories when we do).
• Preparing our Halloween costumes (did you see our coordinating costumes last year? Not sure what we’re going to be this year)
• Pumpkin carving (last year we did it with the “big kids” in our family)
• Preparing for Thanksgiving!
…annnnd Julian’s birthday also lands IN fall since it’s in November! This time last year I was in party planning mode because it was his 1st birthday so I wanted to make it epic and epic it was (see Julian’s Wonka-themed birthday here). This year we are doing something SUPER intimate since we are going to a wedding in Puerto Vallarta that same weekend. In all honesty I don’t think I’m going to do another big production like I did for his 1st until he requests it!
Let me know what are some of your favorite fall traditions and activities!
Best {Fashionable} Regards,
Paulina
