A couple of weeks ago I gave in and decided to try blue light glasses because with work from home and quarantine my device usage has definitely gone up! I heard the hype around blue light glasses and while I’m no expert I wondered if they would help my eye health since I sit in front of a computer screen for work, virtual meetings, then Netflix on the iPad and of course my phone throughout the day. I researched further a.k.a. searched on google and after reading some of the benefits (i.e. how it helps block out the blue light that can cause “digital strain” and also increase comfort) I decided to give them a try. In typical style blogger fashion I had to peruse several websites to find THE Stylish ones, then it turned into my getting 3 different shapes on glasses. I’m sharing those below + more stylish blue light glasses ideas I found!
Tortoise Shell Cat Eye:
I wanted some statement blue light glasses since I currently have prescription glasses that are very simple. When I saw these I was sold because of the fun shape of the glasses plus the tortoise shell, if you like the shape but not the color there are other color options to choose from! From the three that you’ll see, these are the ones I have been wearing the most. Verdict: I like wearing them, my eyes don’t feel as strained as they use to and I kind of like that it allows me to get away with no make up for meetings! By the same token, I will say that it does have glare so they are not THE best option if you want your colleagues to see your eyes!
Clear thick Frame blue lights:
The trendiest blue light glasses right now are the clear frame ones and after looking at countless ones I really wanted ones with a thick frame. I ended up ordering these from Amazon because they were the shape I was looking for and the price point. Verdict: They are really cute and I like the aesthetic, but I found myself not wearing them too much because of the glare within the glasses (since the frames are clear). I would say these are more for looks and while they will block out blue light they are not the most visually comfortable.
Oversized Wire Blue Light Glasses:
I was hesitant at first to get these oversized wire blue light glasses, but they were on sale and I figured it was my opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone! These gave me the chic 70’s vibe! I realize these are not for everyone and I even put these as a vote on an Instastories poll where 80% said I should keep them so I am and just going to have fun with them! Verdict: While I feel funky in them, they are actually the most comfortable because they are light and there is no thick frame that your eye competes with.
