Yes you read that title right, today I’m talking about fashionable sunglasses that cost less than $20! Each of these I have purchased and worn so I’ll be giving you my honest opinion below.
Why I love affordable and fashionable sunglasses under $20
Reason #1, I picked up some sunglasses for under $20 because… I keep losing them! I have lost a pair of Chanel (although I suspect they were stolen because they were gone in a blink of an eye), a pair of Gucci, a couple of pairs of Quay sunnies at Opening Day in Del Mar and countless other no-name brand sunglasses. I even lost 2 pairs I bought to include in this post! Sheesh.
Reason #2, I have the hardest time keeping them scratch free- whether they fall off my head or I forget to put them in their case, I basically don’t trust myself with expensive sunglasses! SO I turned to Amazon to scope out the endless amounts of sunglasses and picked up a few, some have been clear winners and one pair I would not recommend.
Reason #3, brand name to me is not that big of a deal when it comes to sunglasses. I think it’s much more valuable to put the money towards brand name handbags or shoes, because those are easier to take care of and are long-lasting.
You can obtain some chic fashionable sunglasses at a really good price, for me “really good” is under $20- totally attainable!
Oversized round sunglasses: I wanted to try a round shape and I love that these came in all-brown tortoise shade which goes well with my earth tone outfits. They also come in other colors if you want them in black. These have been my go-to’s for casual looks or even for the beach.
Retro red toned cateye sunglasses: I love a good cat eye sunglasses shape so I picked this red pair that turned out to be more of a burgundy. I love that the color is subtle enough for every day wear but also colorful enough to serve as an accent to an outfit (like I did below).
Retro black and white cateye sunglasses: I think affordable sunglasses are a good way to experiment with different/statement sunglasses that you are not used to, like these half black, half white cateye ones. I love that they make a statement but not sure I would toss these on day-to-day. They were my go-to’s to party at the pool in Puerto Vallarta which made me feel hip!
Black oversized sunglasses (exact pair here!): I believe these are dupes, which I didn’t know when I purchased them (sorry!) but I just LOVED the shape, the thickness and how opaque they were! These have definitely been my go-to’s. Since I loved the black oversized pair above so much I ended up getting the half tortoise shell, half black pair and again LOVED the shape, love that I could were this with non-black clothes. They come in so many different colors too! UPDATE: they currently only have red in stock, crossing fingers they come back in stock!
This square oversized also were my go-to’s until I lost them. I have NO clue where they are at, but am thinking of re-buying them. They are thick and sturdy and look way more expensive than they cost. I believe these may be a dupe too.
Red heart-shaped sunglasses: Talking about statement sunglasses, I believe these are also dupes BUT I would not buy an expensive pair of heart shape sunglasses. These are fun and are more like a novelty pair. These are great especially at this time around Valentine’s Day. They also come in black and white.
Lastly, here are the pair that disappointed. I got these to try a different style (since as you could tell I usually go with the thick frame). These were so thin and non sturdy that it felt like I was wearing a wire on my face that could easily bend like an art project. I would not recommend these.
And with that, let me know if you enjoyed this round up! PS. I constantly share how I wear my sunglasses and daily looks over on the free Liketoknow.it shopping app! Find me under lilbitsofpau for all the things, sales, pieces, etc I’m loving!
