SHOW/ONLINE SERIES I’M OBSESSED WITH THIS WEEK…
Last week I mentioned I was really into the Shane Dawson YouTube Series “The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star” and while last week he didn’t publish any shows, this week he has two. The first went live yesterday and I was so sucked in because he was going to unveil his makeup palette, or so I thought, and instead he left it as a cliffhanger for today (arg!). Other than that, there weren’t any shows that blew me out of the water, I mean I did the usual Real Housewives and Bravo shows, but I literally feel like I’m on auto-pilot with those. I have been in the mood for a feel good show like Gilmore Girls or the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and if I had more time I think I would have re-watched those to get that happy fix. I’m anxiously waiting for next season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel but it doesn’t hit Amazon until December 6th!
PODCAST I LOVED THIS WEEK… LIKE REALLY LOVED
There was definitely a resounding favorite this week for me, How I built this with Guy Raz interviewing the creator and CEO of Stitch Fix Katrina Lake (listen to it here). I loved it so much that I posted on Instastories and tagged @KatrinaLake and YOU GUYS, she DM’d me back! Not once but twice! I was starstruck. During this interview I could feel how despite all of the no’s she kept getting as she pitched Stitch Fix to Venture Capitalists, she knew she had something substantial and hustled her way to make it work- now that is the definition of a visionary! These days Stitch Fix is valued at $2 BILLION. One of the biggest realizations I had is how her business relies SO MUCH on data to provide the best customer experience. There was a part she said before they had a legit program, they would gather data on pen and paper, then have task rabbits enter it on spreadsheets. Now it comes with a stylist but by the time the options get to the stylist, all of the things the customer would not like are taken out by said data and programs. I was also wow’ed when I realized we are close in age and she was also a newer mom. The end the episode concluded with Guy Raz saying that she rang the bell at Nasdaq with her son in her arms. Now that for me is total #goals.
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK…
Biting off more than I could chew– yup as if I couldn’t chew anymore somehow I put more on my plate? I toggle back and forth between the fear of missing out on opportunities and then wanting time and space in my life to just chill. Some days I’m so full of energy and say yes to things, then the next I’m tired and regretting saying yes. Does this happen to anyone else?
TIP OF THE WEEK…
Ok, I’m inserting this random tip here because this week I checked up on my retirement account and was so proud of myself. Let me explain. I’ve been working since the age of 16, and didn’t start taking my retirement seriously until the age of like 28. But this year I decided to turn it up a notch and increase my retirement contributions to as much as I could bear without it making me feel like a broke college student again. Why? 1) I want to have a realistic retirement account that will take care of me without me having to bug my kid when I’m older (God Willing I’m still alive). 2) When I listen to all of the financial experts like David Bach and Dave Ramsey one of the givens if you have a 401(k) meaning your employer matches part of your contributions, make sure you contribute to the max of their matching because if you don’t it’s like leaving money on the table! So my tip is this if you have a retirement account, contribute (every bit counts) and start thinking about your future long-term. P.S. If you don’t have an employer you can still create a retirement account.
And with that, I will end this cafesito here. Hope you all have a fantastic week and let me know your thoughts! Hit me up on Instagram under @lilbitsofpau!

I am obsessing over the Jeffree Star and Shane Dawson series too! The new episode just went up tonight but I don’t think I’ll be able to watch it until tomorrow.
