So far in 2021:

  • We got new flooring in! We finally got rid of the nasty tile that came in this house (you can kind of see it in these pictures). I’m sure it was IN when the previous (original) owners of this house put it in, but it had been such an eye sore for us. It was really hard for me to decorate around it, hence why it took me so long to commit to a home decor direction. I kept bringing in area rugs, tried a warm wall color to complement it but no matter what the tile just brought the chicness of the house all the way down. With this new flooring I was able to convince my husband to paint the living room and kitchen a white color.
  • New white paint color! Now with this color it feels more sleek and modern. I’m not committed to going all the way modern in the house #becausekids but I love how it really brightens our living area. PLUS since renovating the kitchen, it really made that whole are look STUNNING (more on that to come!)
  • Went on a shopping spree! So now that we have new flooring, new paint I went all in on the decor direction. I made an mock picture with the items before buying them (see my entryway inspo pic above) and I have been scouring my favorite stores like Target to source a lot of the bigger pieces, especially because they are on the affordable side. I will say that I was able to find other great complementary and affordable decor items elsewhere so I have linked the exact products down below!

Still to come… (thinking out loud)

  • I feel like the entryway is 90% done, I just need a couple more coffee table books, either a picture frame for a picture of our little family and/or a lamp (still deciding). Once I feel like it’s done done I’ll share it on instagram and my LTK shop here!
  • The living room: I just got a new ruggable area rug (review to come since I got a lot of questions about it), wall art and pillows BUT I still feel like I need a few more things like curtains, maybe sconces or a lamp and a touch of color that isn’t gray/beige.
  • The chimney area: This area needs a professional to construct it, I have a semi-vision that I need to put into an inspo board so that I can hire someone to build it.
  • The kitchen area: All the big things are done here, it’s just more styling. I’ve been so tied up with the rest of the house that I have neglected to finish this area. I did buy some new kitchen decor and black dining chairs that I am loving. It’s just a matter of concentrating on completing this area, for now!

As always, I’m consistently sharing on the Liketoknow.it app under my profile lilbitsofpau! Also, I’ll be sharing more on my Insta-stories under lilbitsofpau! Hope to see y’all there!

Best {Fashionable} Regards,

Pau
