#Declutter4Realz Decluttering Challenge

Coming at you from my cluttered closet for a special announcement! My colorful home improvement designer friend Jenna (a.k.a. @jennapilant) and I are launching our own 4 week Declutter Challenge titled #Declutter4Realz because welp, we are REAL women, with real clutter, with real emotions that we want to channel into something as productive as decluttering during this very stressful and uncertain time.

Decluttering my closet challenge, decluttering challenge, how to participate in a decluttering challenge, #declutter4realz

HOW the #Declutter4Realz Decluttering Challenge works:

Step 1: Assess and make a list! I have been part of other decluttering challenges that tell you what to work on each day and I found it to not be efficient because it either went through areas I didn’t need to work on or missed areas that were unique to my home. For our challenge, we want you to assess your home, what areas you want to tackle within the next 4 weeks and then make a list. You can go around your space(s) and write down your list then sit down and prioritize what to tackle each day.

Step 2: Break it up! Jenna and I advise that you break them up into at least 30 minute increments a day so that each day you are moving forward in the decluttering journey. We even have a calendar to assist you (this is Instagram story friendly, you can share it there and tag us at: #declutter4realz @lilbitsofpau and @jennapilant

Step 3: Track your progress! Use the calendar and your list to check off things off your list every day until the end of the month so you can visibly see both on paper and in your space all of the progress. Make sure to share with us by posting on Instastories (tagging: #declutter4realz @lilbitsofpau @jennapilant), you will therefore be posting to your IG followers that will hold you accountable (I know it does that for me and people look forward to seeing what I worked on each day). That to me is what is motivating to chip away at the clutter, just knowing that at the end of the month I’ll be proud of myself and also have clean spaces!

Hope that you join us or at least, let us entertain you as we share EVERYTHING on our Instagram stories!
