My Personal and Blogging Goals for 2020

Yesterday on Instagram I shared an overview of my goals for 2020 and in this post I wanted to go more into detail into my personal and blogging goals for 2020!

My Personal Goals for 2020

My motto for 2020 is work smarter, not harder and HAVE FUN! This is where making improvements, strategizing, planning ahead and looking for ways to be more efficient comes into play. I want to prioritize and let go of things that are low on my priority list and taking up time. At the top of my priorities list, my son, my husband, my family, my friends and me.

This year I want to make it a point to carve out some me-time at least once a month where I’m not blogging, I’m not with Julian, I’m not working or on social media, just some good ol’ fashion #selfcare. Whether it be a trip to the nail salon, reading a book, getting a massage, you get the point- this is crucial to my mental state.

PHYSICAL AND HEALTH:

In 2019, I joined challenges with @fitlifetif on Instagram and really committed to it fully and lost close to 20 pounds. Since then I have been more chill about my approach and have gained some of it back which I knew I would especially after tamale season! This year I my goal is to prioritize getting over 7 hours of sleep, to drinking over 80 oz of water a day and to working out at least 3 times a week. I also hope to do more joint workouts with my husband, like an outdoor hike or walk.

CAREER:

I want to lean in to my career and not be afraid or embarrassed to take on bigger projects (as my boss says it’s ok to “fail forward” as that is part of growing). I have been very passive in my career since I had Julian. I am in a comfort zone and just doing the work, but this year I am embracing some opportunities. One of them is public speaking in our department once a month, which me 2 years ago would have me nervous for the whole month leading up to it, but I hope with doing it more often I will get more comfortable with it.

FINANCIAL:

I have been good about staying out of debt and building a savings account. This year we have some big decisions to make as a family like getting a bigger home, if God willing that happens I want to be financially prepared for that decision. I also want to focus on building long-term wealth planning for us and Julian.

My Blogging goals for 2020

And with Lil bits of Chic, I want to embrace the CHIC! ok, I know that might sound like a lil much 😉

On Instagram I said “I want to make 2020 the best year in all of my blogging career (which is going on 9 years so I’m aiming high!)” I truly want to manifest this and speak into reality! I know what you’re thinking though, what does “best year” mean for me? Aside from aiming to make it financially better than any other year, I want to find my tribe, the women I am talking to and aiming to motivate, inspire or help with tips and tricks.

  • I want to embrace feedback and what you are liking the most and do more of that, so please make sure you are participating in any of my polls or questions on Instastories so that I can get a better idea.
  • I want to create content that is both creative and helpful. I love putting together looks and choosing ideal locations in San Diego, then pairing that up with blog posts that tell a story or give you style advice. I want to make sure that every blog post is helpful in some way.
  • I want to write more blog posts like “how I got out of credit card debt“, those usually take me way longer to put together because of the work it entails but those of you who message me after it make it worth it!
  • I want to be consistent, show up here on the blog at least once a week and on social media every day. For me, this is all tied to planning ahead and being organized because in my world some days are unpredictable!

And with that I want to ask you, what are your goals for 2019? I’d love to hear!
