With the official start of fall a week away, I wanted to bring you some fall fashion inspo but instead of focusing on the obvious fall colors and prints, I’m bringing you an unexpected color that my eye (and shopping habits) have been drawn to – “texas teal” a.k.a. dark teal.

When fall rolls around you see a slew of leopard, snake print, burgundy and burnt orange, but dark teal? Not so much right?
I mean I still love all of those classic (or basic, depending who you ask) colors and prints but this dark teal is a gorgeous color to add to your fall color toolbox. On Friday, I shared an unboxing of some of JCPenney’s September New Arrivals on my Instastories and inside came this beautiful coat, this bow blouse and these faux snakeskin booties– in case you missed it I have saved it on my Instagram @lilbitsofpau highlight reel titled “JCPenney”! As soon as I saw a peek of the color in the box I got so excited because I had already been eye’ing this color!
So how to wear it?
You can wear it as the prominent piece of your outfit paired with a black, white, earth tones, or even leopard, however if you want to take it to the even more unexpected you can pair it with a rose pink, like in this top. Talking about this top, it also comes in a solid Texas teal (among other colors).

What I love most about JCPenney is that you can find an outfit that looks luxe, chic and stylish yet pay an affordable price at the register because you can always count on them having some good sales! As I sit here to type this all of the items that I am mentioning today’s blog post are on sale! Be warned though, if you like something, pick it up ASAP since it may go out of stock! Another tip: See if the item is in your local store and choose the pickup option if you don’t want to pay for a delivery charge!
