Another year coming to a close and it’s bittersweet because 2014 brought so many big changes in my life, two of them being huge life changes, getting asked for my hand in marriage and then buying our starter home together. I know that typically as fashion bloggers we can choose to put a wall and keep it all fashion, but I like sharing my life beyond the outfits because I’m sure someone out there can relate and in essence, that makes me feel better connected with you all.
Looking back at my 2014 posts, I also noticed a significant shift into beauty and now that I have a house to decorate and a wedding to plan, I anticipate that 2015 will also see more home decor and wedding posts trickling in (let me know if y’all have any special requests in the comment section below). Regardless, my priority will remain fashion, but I hope to also give you ideas and inspiration in those other areas especially because all of them will be budget friendly.
I wouldn’t be a true fashionista if I didn’t have my hits and misses! I have some outfits that I look back at and am like “whoa! I needed to scale that down” but in most cases I can’t believe a lot of the pictures are of me and my productions. I’m so proud at how much better my photography and my photographers (usually my sister and fiance) have gotten! I still want to make an effort to improve it more.
Then there’s my constant love-hate relationship with fitness. I loved when I put in the work and that showed in pictures because I felt more comfortable wearing tighter clothes and crop tops, but just like every woman can relate, I fell of the horse many a times, so now I’m excited to start to get healthy again!
There were also a lot of great achievements in the blog front. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a lot of great companies that I grew up with and that I love- Marshalls as a Project Fab member for a year, working with H&M opening two of their locations as a style consultant, DownEast Basics as their August Stylist, being chosen to be part of a StyleWatch commercial that aired in Times Square, Team Red Contributor (Redbook Mag) and even being in the Januay 2014 Redbook Magazine, to name a few. The opportunities that I get approached with some times take my breath away because when I put all this work into the blog it’s never with the end goal of having those opportunities. The work is always fueled by passion! Here’s to a great 2015 to all of you!! Keep your eye on the prize and always stay kind!
