Spring 2018 Trends with Neiman Marcus

Now that I got the outfit out of the way (here in case you missed it), it’s on to the Spring 2018 Trend Report from Neiman Marcus interpreted by NM Fashion Valley’s own Style Advisor, Alex Yáñez!

SHOP THE TRENDS

BRIGHTS

This was the biggest trend showcased: bold pops of color via statement jackets and punchy prints! The tablescape, hot pink linens, bright yellow flowers and hot pink carpet put this trend front and center, literally! Being a big fan of pink, I loved seeing pink all over!

STATEMENT SLEEVES

I got very giddy seeing and hearing about this trend because I JUST talked about it here and the last few blog posts have been all about the sleeves. Alex however took it up a notch with really extravagant sleeves. It seemed like the bigger the sleeves, the better!

FLORAL DRESSES

I’ve said it time and time again that fashion is cyclical, and you can always count on florals to be IN during Spring! In this trend report it was all about floral dresses in bright and big prints and mixed with edgier pieces.

STRIPES

But not in the usual basic stripes, Alex showed them in a re-imagined way like graphic linear patterns or placements, think stripes on stripes on stripes.

SOFT SUNNIES

Seeing the gorgeous soft tint sunnies walk down the pink carpet made this mirrored-sunnies-obssessed girl (me!) put soft sunnies in her mental shopping list.

THE POINTED TOE

Seeing brands return to the pointed toe totally had me regretting that I got rid of a lot of pointed toe shoes! lol. Again, fashion is cyclical is the resounding message so I think I’m going turn into a fashion hoarder! But yea, the pointed toe shoe is the IT shoe of the season.

LOGO BAGS

Bold logos are back (excuse me while I dust off my Dior and Gucci logo bags)! Alex said, it’s all about showing who you’re wearing! The Balenciaga bag literally has Balenciaga written across it, and Gucci is back with its classic print splashed across its accessories.

RAINBOW JEWELRY

This tied into the “brights” trend, and we saw very colorful accessories that didn’t limit themselves to just ONE color.

SPARKLE & GLITTER GLAM

This is a glam girl’s and a “kira kira” app user’s dream! It’s all about the sparkle on the lips and lids!

MENS’ TRENDS

There were also Men’s trends featured, but seeing as I focus on women’s fashion I’m not going to go too much in detail. If I had to choose some for my husband I would say my favorite men’s trends discussed were the statement blazer, oversized aviators, logo mania and the new denim!
