Over the weekend I was invited to try Drybar in San Diego, which for me couldn’t have come at a better time as I continue to struggle to get volume in my hair with this humidity!
If you don’t know what Drybar is, they are a “no cuts, no color, just blowouts” destination, with a menu full of beautiful hairstyles to choose from and a shop of wonderful tools and products to let you try some ‘dos at home!
I was expecting a blowout but I got so much more as I quickly realized that Drybar is a packaged experience. The decor itself is adorable, with its signature pops of yellow everywhere and a chandelier made of blow dryer! I walked in to this friendly atmosphere and then whisked away to the back to get my hair washed in combination with a soothing head massage.
After selecting a ‘do from the menu, I explained to my stylist Janelle that my hair lacks volume. She then worked the Drybar magic that included this cool trick of a gazillion brushes in my hair!
Did I mention they offer you a drink while they work on your hair? Since it was rainy out, I opted for a delicious coffee all while watching the Crazy, Stupid, Love that chick flick that starred, hello, Ryan Gosling- hubba hubba!
So there’s great decor- check! Head Massage- check! Coffee- check! Ryan Gosling- Mega Check! and of course a great hairstyle- check check check! This place sure knows the way to my heart! Janelle did tell me the curls would loosen which they did and to keep the stylin’ going I also got these goodies that will assist me in doing some styles at home.
